Dear David, You now have a little daughter. Some day she will be married. It is my hope that on that day someone like you does the photography for her wedding. Your work is truly magnificent. You haven’t just taken photos; you have given memories that are virtually as vivid and real as the day these memories were made.

Given that Kristin herself is a photographer, I am sure there was some extra pressure not to let her down. Trust me when I tell you that she is ecstatic with your work.

When I first saw the photos and watched the slide show I was moved beyond an outward visible reaction. I cannot describe to you, or to anyone the joy I felt. You are an unbelievably gifted artist. The thought that went into the creation of each photo and in turn the combined force of all the photos documenting the wedding and brilliantly set to music is pure genius. The colours, the composition, the attention to every little detail, show not just a person whose vocation is photography; rather an artist whose avocation is the love of the art form.

Thank you for the greatest gift any Mother can receive on the occasion of one of the defining moments in life- my personal recording of my daughter’s wedding, as memorable in pictures as it was in reality.

It is exactly one week to the hour that I began to walk down the aisle, as I write you this email; We have just come back from the honeymoon at the cottage, and have peeked into our photos in the client gallery. We had to stop, so as not to lose the anticipation, and the savouring of what your photos have already let us relive. You captured what Jeff and I both agree was the most amazing moment of our lives. It’s really a marvel, actually.. that at that time, it really felt like there was no one but he and I in the whole room. And yet, you were there, with your lens, capturing every moment so perfectly, that.. exactly one week to the hour, we are able to relive the excitement, the joy.. and see who else was there and excited for us.

Thank you for: your kindness, your patience, your calmness, your organization, your excellent communication skills, your professionalism, your compassion (not everyone jumps at the idea of photographing a jumpy bride, and her rottweilers!) Thank you for the reasonable price point, and most of all, for your incredible skill. Each picture is worth a thousand words, so based on that, Jeff and I, and all of the guests who are so happy to have been captured, owe you at least a novel of gratitude.

Thank you for bringing Salina as your sidekick. I suspect all of your partners are good, but she really made me feel beautiful.

At 43, I’ve seen lots of wedding photography, (and heard about the pricing!) None compare in any way to you. I want them to know that I asked you to include this letter so that they can make an informed decision. They can even call me if it comes down to it. YOU ARE THE BEST, and I am neither prone to writing letters of recommendation (while still technically on my honeymoon, nor am I prone to hyperbole.

Not only were his photographs simply amazing, a DVD slideshow copy of them was READY for us THE NEXT DAY when we passed through Toronto on our way home, 3 days earlier than originally scheduled.

David has taken portraits of my children many times over the past three years and he has never failed to capture them at their absolute best, no matter how dirty their faces or how messy their hair and clothes. He has an incredible amount of patience and is never bothered by their unwillingness to sit still or to stop goofing off. He is extremely good with children, including fussy babies or shy toddlers. He has taken photos of my two sons that have brought tears of joy and emotion to their grandmothers’ eyes. He has never made myself or my children pose awkwardly, as some professional photographers do, but has a rare talent for capturing the perfect moment or the perfect expression by allowing his subjects to be themselves and relax.

I like the short video you made of our wedding SO much more than I even imagined I would!!!! I think I’ve watched it a million times already!! It’s the best keepsake of our day, that I didn’t even know I wanted!! And we’re getting the most amazing compliments on it! Thank you!

David was extremely professional, and incredibly easy-going and fun, even when the “Paparazzi” showed up- a group of about 20 snap-happy and vocal wedding guests who followed us down to our “˜private” portrait session, and had no qualms about bossing him around and getting in the way while he tried to do his job! “Hey! Don’t move her yet! We haven’t all finished getting OUR snaps of the portraits you’ve set up“) He even “hired” my enthusiastic cousin as his assistant for the day, and lent her one of his very expensive cameras when he saw how much fun she was having with our photo sessions.

What can I say rather than they are phenomenal and we are so very happy with both the presentation and the photographs themselves. We watched them last night and the whole thing literally brought tears to my eyes I think that Mike was somewhat misty at a few points too.

After my father passed away, when my mother was forced to sell our family farm, David came to take photos of the place in which I grew up and loved. This land is where I developed my love of nature, and I wondered if anyone could capture what I felt for the farm in photos. David did just that. Although we no longer have our farm, we have a beautiful keepsake in a photo book and slideshow. Now, when I look at the evocative photos he took, I am transported to another world and a home that will always be a part of me. If it is possible, his photos made my farm appear even more beautiful than it is in reality.

You captured the day perfectly; the surroundings and decor, the food and drink, guests, families, wedding party, and the actual ceremony and reception. They are truly beautiful and we are so looking forward to getting many of them printed. Our families will be absolutely thrilled with them, and I would hazard a guess that once they see the presentation that I may be contacting you for more copies

On our wedding day we could hardly even tell we had a photographer due to his unobtrusive and professional style of picture taking but after reviewing our pictures he did not miss a shot or picture opportunity. David has a gift that he is able to package in all his pictures for you to enjoy.

We absolutely love all our photos. They are perfect and captured the feel and personality of the event and people there. We are thrilled to have so many candid photos of our guests and it was exactly what we wanted for our memories. We look back at our photos and are transported back to our wedding and can feel, hear, remember everything that happened. As well, having all the images on CD gives us great flexibility for the size and type of photos we want printed.
